Blog 17/05/2014

This will be my last blog as a kid. It sounds very scary, doesn't it. It hurts to think about how my childhood will end just like this. Honestly, I had a good childhood, but I never enjoyed being a kid, so it's ironic how I'm holding on to my last hours as a kid. I guess I never know how to treasure things until they're gone. Anyways, that isn't the point. Today, I will talk about something quite controversial. Here's a hint:

Le slash ships.

So yeah, one picture does not mean all. But needless to point out, that's a slash ship you see up there. I like to call it an "extreme friendship", instead of the gross things others call them. My views on LGBT are pretty neutral. Since I am a Christian, I do not support these things or want to become one of them. But at the same time, I respect their decisions as there might be a certain deep story behind. I see it as another form of love that I'm inexperienced with. I think that some people nowadays claim to not discriminate them, but in a way, they do. As parents, it is okay to attempt to educate their children and make them feel that they are sinful/wrong, but sometimes they go overboard and children end up having worse impressions of them.

Since I am a fan of AKB48/48G, groups which are packed with countless girls, nothing but slash ships exist. In the picture above is Atsumina, one of my favourite ships among the many ships. I ship such things because of several reasons: I really admire the friendship among girls, such pairs have gone through a lot together and much more. There have been many stories of the girls together, which makes their friendship deeper. Perhaps, because they have spent so much time together, they have been close to such an extent that people start to ship them.

My mom thinks that such ships are very wrong. Actually it depends on how you see them. Some people think that they are deeply in love with each other, which is why they think they are wrong; while I think that they have been together for so many years that they see each others' good points, so they depend on each other. I don't see anything wrong with that at all. It's undeniable that they are a bit too intimate sometimes, but then it really depends on your standards of intimacy.

I suppose that the line between real slash ships and "not-that-real" slash ships are very thin, and it is getting blurred more and more every day. I just have to say that, don't ever judge a pair for its actions. Most of the time it's just because of the difference in your and their ideas of intimacy. In the beginning I hated such slash ships, but now I've come to accept them and think of them in another way.
