The term is nearly coming to an end thanks to the ever-amazing Christmas. After the deadly mid-term exams, it's basically relaxation and enjoyment. Today, we went for a picnic. Our picnic was quite special, 1u (my class), 1y and 1z went to a country park, and the others (1w, 1x) went to an organic park.
There were barbecue pits, but we didn't barbecue because we simply weren't enthusiastic enough. Then, I went over to some friend's pit and 'borrowed' their fire and barbecued marshmallows. They were delicious but my hand got all sticky :D
After we were finally satisfied with the amount of food in our stomachs, some friends and I went hiking nearby. It was my first time going hiking without adults, so it was an eye-opening experience for me. I had four hiking mates, namely Patricia, Kelly, Aimee and Rachel. I spent the majority of the hiking time taking selfies with Kelly *cough cough* we love ourselves too much. Aimee never wanted to enter pictures, so she would always be the camerawoman and take pictures for us. The hike was shorter than I had imagined and also more interesting.
I agree with my mom. Reaching out to Mother Nature is fun sometimes. When you have the best weather, the correct amount of wind, the clean country park... Then yes. We proudly strolled through the roads, bellowing at each other and taking countless selfies. The overly-self-loving me took so many that the other hikers stared at me with a weird look. We were eating on our way, and basically it was like a walking feast.
We took about 20 minutes to walk from our barbecue area to the reservoir. The water in the reservoir was so clear and magnificent. Of course the reservoir was nothing compared to the Falls or the Dead Sea, but we city people hadn't seen anything this refreshing and eye-opening in ages, which was why we all turned into fangirls and were literally shamelessly fangirling over water. That day was an unusually beautiful one.
What I felt that day would obviously be happiness. I rarely claim that I had a happy day, but that day was just plain happiness for me. Looking through the photos, I realized how happy I was the whole time. It was perhaps because exams were over, stress had disappeared, worries had vanished, and I could reach out to something new without having any burdens in the heart. I have to say, once in a while, we all have to free ourselves and go out to somewhere far away from the business. We should all go and scream our souls out.
We screamed and laughed out of control while we were running down the road together. I will never forget that day.
