To Kashiwagi Yuki-san, the idol I respect the most,

Kashiwagi Yuki is a Japanese idol. She is a member of AKB48's Team B and NMB48's Team N. She is an idol that I respect a lot and look up to, for various reasons. Before you start to insult her because of your dislike towards Jpop/AKB48, please pause for a while and don't jump to conclusions.

Honestly, I've never been an obsessive fan of any artist or band. In fact, I'm quite a self-centered person and I never see any artist/superstar more important than myself. But well, Yukirin-san is the first singer/famous person I'm obsessed over.

To begin with, although Yukirin isn't considered the most pretty member, but many people are captivated by her beauty, including me. Her movements are so idol-like and elegant. She works so hard, dedicates so much time into this business, and that part of her really touches me. It is obvious how she's passionate about becoming an idol, and that really makes me admire her a lot.

Talent-wise, she's considered one of the most vocally-capable members. Since the beginning, she has been given a lot of solo songs. It is obvious that her vocal ability is amazing. It's not the most powerful, but it's certainly comfortable and soothing to listen to, and is definitely not the slightest bit weak. It has such clarity and sounds so crisp and fresh to listen to. Her dancing is excellent as well. I don't know how to explain it, but it's always so filled with strength and passion, it's obvious that she's putting in all her effort. Her three solo concerts are so excellent that I can't even contain my excitement while watching them.

She's also a good leader and friend to many members. She is close with quite a lot of members, and is adored by many of her juniors. Some members have remarked that she 'warmly watches over everyone'. When appointed to become the captain, she chooses to observe the team's dynamic for a while before taking on a leader role. She also cares about Watanabe Mayu, a member from her generation, saying that she thinks Mayu's growth is more important than her own. And I think that, genuinely, Yukirin is a selfless member in many ways. Being the selfish person I am, I feel that she is certainly a respectable figure.

The thing I respect most is, while many members use AKB as a stepping stone to a solo career, she is one of the few who truly want to become an idol, a member of the group. From her actions, fans can easily see that she works hard to present the best side of herself. It isn't something that many people notice, but if one decides to watch more about her, it won't take long to notice that.

In the coming year, I'll definitely support her with full force. Yukirin-san, let's work hard together to become the center!!! Your hard work will certainly be paid off! I'll never give up on you!!!

To the first singer I've ever been obsessed over, the first idol that I've found respect for... I'm certain that I won't ever forget her. Her influence is definitely heavy on me. Yukirin is definitely my role model. Just thinking of her reminds me never to give up, when I encounter difficulty.
