song sharing - watashi wa watashi

Here comes one of those Japanese songs. Unlike Nana songs, this song sounds quite uplifting sometimes. It's a song by the amazing Minegishi Minami (miichan) from AKB48. This somehow proves that some AKB members DO know how to sing with emotion. Most of their songs are like quick happy dance songs. This is different.

The story behind the singer Miichan is even better than the song. Miichan violated the no-dating rule of AKB and got discovered. As a result, she cut all her hair and apologized. AKB was nice to her and demoted her to kenkyuusei (research students). A lot of people quit after violating rules, but Miichan insists that she is willing to start from zero to become an AKB member everyone can approve of. She believes that, like her hair, she has grown.

This song is an encouragement to those who feel like they are losing. Some of the lyrics really encourage me.

The reason why I think that this is worth sharing is because everyone feels like that every once in a while. The people who started off with me, in many aspects, have been a lot more successful than me. I believe that many people have experienced that before. But like Miichan, I am willing to start from nothing and work harder to achieve more.
